Fort Worth-DFW Airport

Super Shuttle driver was supposed to be at Kwut’s house at 6:15 AM, but the driver was early and arrived at 6:00 AM instead. The van also picked up a man and a woman at an extended stay on Bryant Irvin (not THE Extender). Then the Super Shuttle took us to DFW airport where we were supposed to leave from gate A-11. After checking in we went to the Admiral’s Club in terminal A from 7:30-8:15 AM.

Los Angeles

American Airlines flight 2409 took off from DFW to LAX. I flipped on the flight. Kwut borrowed my headset and watched the Princess Diaries 2. Also looked at the optional Globus tours on the plane. Landed at LAX, walked to the Bradley International terminal. Checked in at Air Tahiti Nui. Went through security again and changed money. I got French Polynesia francs. Kwut got Tahiti, NZ and Australian money. I also called to have my mail held. We ate at the restaurant next to the Air Tahiti gate. I had a sandwich and Kwut had the Udon soup. We called M & Bear since this was the last chance to use the cell phone. Got on Air Tahiti Nui Flight TN001 on the aircraft Moorea for the 7 hour flight to Papeete. Got first meal on the flight, I got the black thing (meat loaf). The A340 Airbus was equipped with video games. I gammonned the computer at Backgammon. I also played Mini Golf and I got to the balls screen on Space Invaders. I also watched I, Robot on the inflight movie.

Papeete, Tahiti

Wanted to see the Marquesas Islands but it was overcast. A second meal was served consisting of a pasta salad, some cheese and turkey so that you could make a sandwich with the baguette. As we neared Tahiti we filled out the immigration papers. I watched some of the Stingray movie and listened to the Vive-la tape on the Corby (tape recorder). We arrived in Papeete in heavy turbulence and rain. We stayed on the plane after landing to wait for the ground crew to get a covered walkway. When we finally got off the plane it was not raining much. Just inside (covered but not A/C) the terminal there was a band of three musicians playing Polynesian music. There was a long line to check passports, but when you got to customs they just waved you by. Went outside of the terminal building and caught a taxi from Dono (don – no). Made arrangements to get picked up to go back to the airport at 5:45 AM (did not take up his offer to go into town). Paid FP1800 + 200 tip for the ride from the airport to the Sofitel Mauva Beach. Check in at the reception desk, getting free OJ and went to room 622 (finally got the A/C going – very hot and humid outside). Went to look for dinner. Choices were a buffet for FP4000 or the Japanese restaurant or room service. We went with the buffet. I got a Schweppes Lemon to drink. Dupe was grilling steaks. The Polynesian dancing performance was over by the time we got there. Kwut went to get two bottles of water from the bar and to set up the wake up call. Tried the SW. Explored around the hotel to take pictures, going down to the first floor (lobby was on the second floor) and outside to the pool area. After going back to the room we tried the universal power supply and was able to charge the Kwut’s cell phone, the SW, my cell phone, and the camcorder.
